That's Entertainment!

Hi All,

Here are where things stand as far as the entertainment portion of the party:

Games
There have been 3 suggestions for games submitted so far-

1. Fall Harvest Bingo: Like the typical Bingo game, but with fall pictures (pumpkins, leaves, scarecrows, etc).

2. Fall-Themed Memory Game: Several fall-inspired items are placed on a platter. The kids get to look at the items and ask questions for a few minutes. Then the platter is covered and the kids have to remember as many items as they can. Due to their age, maybe we can have pictures of various items and the kids circle the ones they remember.

3. Pumpkin Pass Game: This is kind of like musical chairs...the kids sit in a circle and pass small pumpkins while music plays. Once the music stops, the person without a pumpkin goes out. And then it repeats - the last person holding a pumpkin wins.

If you have any other suggestions for games, please let me know.

Story
I came across a book called "Fletcher and the Falling Leaves" which might work - it's all about Fall. Please let me know if you have other suggestions.

Arts & Craft
Danna volunteered to coordinate the Arts & Crafts project. Nicole sent a really cute suggestion for a craft involving pumpkins. If you have any other suggestions please pass them along.

Thanks!

Eat, Drink & Be Merry!

Hi Ladies,

Here is the consolidated list of who is bringing which items:

Plates, Napkins, Cups - Nicole
Sweet Snack (Rice Crispy Treats) - Nicole
Salty Snack - Danna
Fruit (Oranges) - Kristin
Juice Boxes - Kristin
Goodie Bags for students & teachers - Nancy

For planning purposes, please remember that there will be 16 people attending the party.

Please let me know if you want to decorate. I was thinking at the very least to have tablecloths and small centerpieces.

Stuff to bring

Thanks so much for setting this up! Very efficient, love it! I am happy to bring plates, cups and napkins. I will bring cupcakes too - chocolate with orange frosting to stick with the fall theme.

I will research a few games to and post ideas later. Love the idea of doing fall words bingo though.

Hi Everybody!

I know from past experience how hard it can be to communicate with even 1 other person (not to mention 4) when organizing an event. This might seem like overkill, but I think having a central place to post messages will be a lot easier than passing a ton of emails back and forth over the next 2 weeks. So if that's cool with you all, let's get to it!

Here is the list of paper goods and food items that we need to bring for the party:
  • Plates

  • Napkins

  • Cups

  • Salty Snack

  • Sweet Snack

  • Fruit (Kristin)

  • Juice Boxes (Kristin)

Would you all please sign up to bring one or more of these requested items? I'll volunteer to bring fruit and juice boxes (I brought mandarin oranges in "pumpkin" cups for my youngest son's party last year). Please note that the food items are just suggestions - feel free to bring whatever you like. Thanks!

We are also on the hook for coming up with entertainment. Specifically:

  • 3 games

  • 1 Arts & Craft project

  • 1 Story

I literally spent 3 minutes looking up ideas for games online and found some cool suggetions, like a fall-themed Bingo game and a pumpkin toss. Please pass along any ideas that you might have for games, crafts, stories, songs, etc.

One other thing - are you all interested in doing decorations? Mrs. Brown didn't mention it, but I think the kids would love them. Just let me know.

Thanks again - I look forward to meeting each of you in person! Kristin
